Lucidity, Dreams & Astral Projection

A few nights ago i was having trouble sleeping after waking at around 3am. This is not normal for me but i knew i had little chance of getting back to sleep straight away so i bit the bullet and got out of bed & found my way onto the computer. I must have stayed up for about 2hrs.

I returned to bed and had an interesting series of experiences which were all totally related and interconnected. These experiences (i think) revealed to me some of the similarities/interconnectedness between the dream and the OBE state.

Opon sleeping i soon found myself in a dreamscape and became aware. I was at my parents house, the house in which i grew up. My father was there as the main character & the dream was playing along with me going for the ride. I was aware and watching the dream, without deciding to ever take control of the scenes.

I then found myself come back into my body at one stage. The screen was black. I was looking at my eyelids and was aware of this and was enjoying the dream so much i decided to hold the last image i remember in my mind in an attempt to return to the dream. This worked! I re-entered the same dream or one just like it. The dream played out for a while longer, the scenes the people, the messages, all similar... I still had no desire to take over the dreamscape, I was consciously dreaming but not controlling it.

Then once more i re-entered my body but this time i was less in my body than the first but I still had the black screen at the back of my eyelids. Then i felt myself rolling inside my body. I was turning inside my body but i was NOT doing it... It was happening TO me... I was just being aware...

One of my main astral projection techniques involves rolling out of my body, so it was not an unusual sensation for me but in this instance i was seperated from my body but still inside & turning full revolutions. About two or three revolutions later i found myself return yet again to the same/similar dream!

What was happening?

Was I projecting?

To me it felt like a dream and if i hadn't experienced the turning in my body i would have presumed i was consciously dreaming then returning to my body and consciously re-entering the dream and remaining aware.

It was occuring in early morning while it was still dark but in the dream/projection it was fully daylight. The colours seemed to come from within the objects, much as they do in other lucid dreams (possibly projections?) i have had. So i am unsure..

Though due to the turning (which i have associated with my projection techique) & after the Astral Pulse thread "I projected this morning!!" i have been entertaing the idea that i WAS perhaps projecting at a lowish level of lucidity..

Throughout these experiences i had quite plesant vibrations at times, especially on returing to the body (partly i think they were due to the thrill of being aware of what was happening) but I never experienced any intense vibrations at all... I also never found myself in any close proximity to my current home or room i was physically in apart from when i was actually in my body between returning to the dream/projection experience/s...

So for now... not sure.. dream...OBE... looks like more exploration is in order :)

This episode of events does however indicate to me that the mechanisms behind OBE & dreams are very similar and maybe it is merely semantics that separates the two.

Thanks for reading,

Hi,

So I have been doing much reading lately and I think i may be able to help you.

By combining several different sources I think that these steps should prove to be very beneficial to you.

1. While you are first falling asleep repeat something like "I will wake up at 2 AM" over and over with an urgency of someones life depended on it.

2. When you wake up acknowledge that you are awake, become comfortable and then focus on your breathing. Whenever a though or a dream attempts to take over return your focus on breathing.

3. When you are successful with step two, step 2 should only last approximately one minute or less and then your body should be completely paralyzed. You will be in mind awake body asleep.

4. You will want to will the energy around you into your body and at this point you should have vibrations.

5. Simply will yourself away from your body.

Steps 2 - 5 should all take place in less than a minutes and you should then be out of your body.

You may need to yell for clarity and awareness, and it would hurt to ask for the experience to be remembered.

Best Regards

David

Excellent post,

An out of body experience is simply a separation of your astral consciousness from the physical body in a “real” world environment. Astral projection is about the separation of your consciousness from the physical body in order to explore new dimensions outside of the realm known to the physical.

Astral projection offers different kind of benefits to different people, based on their motivation for experiencing it. But all of these differing experiences are central to one basic idea that holds them together, which is the ability to unearth more important details about the human consciousness' spiritual aspect.

Hi,

It was a great post on "Lucidity Dreams & Astral Projection".

Many wonder about the real benefits of the Astral Projection. However when they experience the astral travel they find that even the sky is no more the limit for them. No part of the earth or space remains beyond one’s reach and exploring them with full conscious state is absolutely possible with astral travel.
